History:
Veterans Day originated as
“Armistice Day” on Nov. 11, 1919, the first anniversary of the end of World War I. Congress
passed a resolution in 1926 for an annual observance, and Nov. 11 became a
national holiday beginning in 1938.
Reflection: My thoughts on Veterans Day are that is very good to remember
ours veterans because they do a lot for us and protect our country. I do
celebrate Veterans Day because my Grandfather and a close family friend were in
the army. Sadly that family’s friend died while serving our country.
