Allergist / Immunologist

Duties and responsibilities:
Specialists in allergy and immunology have a range of opportunities within research, education and clinical practice. When people are suffering from allergies, they often visit an allergist for diagnosis and treatment. Allergists are able to provide treatment for many different allergic diseases, including asthma, food allergies, medication allergies, and hives.

Salary: $112,000 - $166,400

Education:
To become an allergist, you will need to earn an undergraduate degree, complete medical school, and participate in a three year residency program. During the residency, allergists study either pediatrics or internal medicine, depending on the type of care they would like to provide during their career. Following the residency, it's necessary to become a certified allergist by passing an exam administered by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology in order to practice. Some states may have additional licensing requirements. Check with your state's health board to find out the exact requirements for where you live.

Reflection:   Why do you think you would like to be one? Why? Why not?
I would like to be one cause it sounds cool and looks like a funny job to have.
